Therapeutic Services Offered

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Utilizing structured sessions to help children and adolescents identify and change negative thought patterns, promoting healthier behavior and emotional well-being.

Person-Centered Therapy

Fostering a supportive and non-judgmental environment where young clients can express themselves freely and work towards self-discovery and personal growth.

Adlerian Therapy

Encouraging children and teens to understand their feelings and behaviors in the context of their social environment, promoting a sense of belonging and purpose.

Culturally Sensitive

Culturally sensitive therapists provide therapy that is culturally sensitive. They understand that people from different backgrounds have different values, practices, and beliefs, and are sensitive to those differences when working with individuals and families in therapy.

Integrative

Integrative therapy refers to therapy in which elements from different types of therapy may be used. Therapists ‘integrate’ two or more therapeutic styles (e.g. Cognitive and Family Systems) to bring about a personalized and practical approach to healing.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT)

For clients with chronic pain, hypertension, heart disease, cancer, and other health issues such as anxiety and depression, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, or MBCT, is a two-part therapy that aims to reduce stress, manage pain, and embrace the freedom to respond to situations by choice. MCBT blends two disciplines–cognitive therapy and mindfulness. Mindfulness helps by reflecting on moments and thoughts without passing judgment. MBCT clients pay close attention to their feelings to reach an objective mindset, thus viewing and combating life’s unpleasant occurrences.

Play Therapy

Generally for children ages 3 to 11, play therapy is a form of counseling that relies on play to help therapists communicate with children and understand their mental health. Because children develop cognitive skills before language skills, play is an effective way to understand a child. The therapist may observe a child playing with toys–such as playhouses and dolls–to understand the child’s behavior and identify issues.

Strength-Based

Strength-based therapy is a type of positive psychotherapy and counseling that focuses more on your internal strengths and resourcefulness, and less on weaknesses, failures, and shortcomings. This focus sets up a positive mindset that helps you build on you best qualities, find your strengths, improve resilience and change worldview to one that is more positive. A positive attitude, in turn, can help your expectations of yourself and others become more reasonable.

Solution Focused Brief (SFBT)

Solution-focused therapy, sometimes called “brief therapy,” focuses on what clients would like to achieve through therapy rather than on their troubles or mental health issues. The therapist will help the client envision a desirable future, and then map out the small and large changes necessary for the client to undergo to realize their vision. The therapist will seize on any successes the client experiences, to encourage them to build on their strengths rather than dwell on their problems or limitations.

My Commitments

I’m committed to creating a space where clients feel safe, understood, and genuinely supported. After two years as a middle school counselor, I transitioned into private practice to continue working with children, teens, and young adults (ages 18–25) who are navigating life’s challenges. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, trauma, behavioral concerns, and relationship struggles. My approach focuses on building healthy boundaries, strengthening coping skills, and developing more confidence within yourself.
